UPDATE: Killer Sentenced in Hunters Ridge Case

Zackery Turner, 18, from Charlottesville, pled guilty Thursday for killing 19-year-old Reginald “Shay” Nicholson, from Staunton.
Turner pled guilty to the first-degree murder of Nicholson, as part of a plea agreement made with the Rockingham County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office and filed Wednesday in Rockingham County Circuit Court.
According to the agreement, Turner will serve 30 years in prison and 28 years of suspended prison time with 10 years of supervised probation upon his release.

Redskins Offer Skolnitsky Contract

HARRISONBURG, Va. — The Daily News-Record reported Sunday that the Washington Redskins and former James Madison University defensive end J.D. Skolnitsky are close to a contract agreement.
Skolnitsky participated in the team’s rookie camp over the weekend and was reportedly offered a three-year, $1.2 million deal, which would take effect if he makes it through the team’s training camp.

Three Democrats hope to be governor, while just one Republican will run in the primary
The primary elections for the state of Virginia will be held on June 9. Voters will decide which Republican and which Democrat will run for each of three positions: governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general.
