Leaving Miami after a three game slate in the 2K Sports Classic, the JMU men’s basketball team was able to even its record and regain a measure of respect after getting blown out in its first two games of the year. The Dukes (2-2) were led by sophomore forward Julius Wells, who overcame poor shooting in the first two games. By Emmie Cleveland,November 24, 2009
In last season’s game against Virginia Tech, the JMU women’s basketball team suffered a heartbreaking loss. A 3-pointer put Madison ahead by two. Then, in the last second, a Tech player heaved a half-court shot. The shot missed, but she went to the foul line, where she sent the game into overtime for a 72-70 loss for JMU. This year, the Dukes (2-0) clinched a 66-59 victory in their Sunday matchup at the Convocation Center. The win ended a 9-game losing streak to the Hokies (2-2). “We just... Read more »

Rock supergroups in the past decade have involved two things: underwhelming debut albums and Slash. Fortunately Them Crooked Vultures involves neither.
