HARRISONBURG, Va. — Imagine surviving on 934 calories a week. That was the total amount of calories Jay Ipson and each member of his family received each week while living in the Kaunas ghetto in Lithuania during the Holocaust. Pub’s License Suspended

HARRISONBURG, Va. — The Pub faces a 20-day suspension of its liquor license following a ruling handed down by ABC on Tuesday from a Feb. 25 hearing. “It’s just a penalty that I have to deal with,” said Bill Royer, owner of The Pub. “It has been handed down by the board, and it’s just something I have to abide by.” The hearing that took place investigated The Pub’s role in the death of Sherry Anderson, 55, on Jan. 6, when Bethany Jones, then an employee of The Pub, allegedly killed... Supreme Court Won’t Hear Case

HARRISONBURG, Va. — The U.S. Supreme Court denied a petition for injunction Monday by former JMU student athletes whose sports were cut from the athletic program in 2007. In 2006, JMU’s Board of Visitors voted to cut 10 sports in order to comply with Title IX and have the ratio of male-to-female athletes reflect the ratio of the student body. HARRISONBURG, Va. — Sunday morning around 3 a.m., the Harrisonburg Police Department responded to a shooting on the 100 block of Logan Lane, located a few blocks from Memorial Hall. Former ROTC Professor Dead at 46

HARRISONBURG, Va. — Army ROTC is mourning the loss of Lt. Col. Jeffrey White, a former ROTC instructor, who died Sunday, three weeks after returning from Iraq at the age of 46. White died of a burst aorta while attending church with his family in Texas. He was in Texas visiting his wife’s family. “He was a faithful servant of God,” Lt.
