HARRISONBURG, Va. — Joseph Bozich, CEO of Knights Apparel, has a goal: make products that are not only inexpensive and competitive, but also manufactured ethically. The largest supplier of collegiate apparel in the United States, Knights Apparel owns Alta Gracia, a clothing factory in the Dominican Republic. Debate Lacks Luster

HARRISONBURG — There were a multitude of candidates in Monday night’s SGA debate, but actual debating was scarce. After about half the audience left, the debate between Dan Smolkin and Steven Knott for student representative to the Board of Visitors included many back-and-forth exchanges that clearly defined both candidates’ positions as different approaches to the position. Health Care Addendum to Modify Student Loans HARRISONBURG, Va. — Although President Barack Obama signed further legislation in hopes of benefitting college students, the Health Care and Education Reconciliation Act of 2010 will not heavily affect JMU students. City Residents and Students Should Return Forms by April 1 HARRISONBURG, Va. — Residents across the country, including students, should have noticed some extra post in their mailboxes. The 2010 Census forms were distributed early this week via mail. April 1 is considered Census Day, a reference-date for Americans to send their completed census forms to the U.S. Census Bureau. Missing Flag Finds Way Home

HARRISONBURG, Va. — Old Glory has been returned to a Harrisonburg woman’s home where it belongs. Pat Doorenbos, a resident of the 1100 block of Hillcrest Drive, found her American flag Tuesday morning folded up in a ceremonial triangle on her doormat. The flag, which flew over the United States Capitol 11 years ago, was stolen Feb. 23. HARRISONBURG, Va. — The controversial reality TV star Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi will appear March 3 in front of a full house at the Memorial Auditorium. Junior Stephen Eure, the public relations director for the University Program Board, said tickets quickly sold out Wednesday afternoon after going on sale 8 a.m. Monday. “Before Wednesday we just had 30 tickets left for the event,” Eure said. Acker to Leave JMU After Marijuana Possession Charge HARRISONBURG, Va. — Corwin Acker, a sophomore running back, is no longer a member of the Dukes’ football team. JMU announced Acker’s dismissal Tuesday afternoon because of a violation of the team rules. Acker was charged Monday for possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor.
