HARRISONBURG — JMU has been a part of the Harrisonburg community for over a century, and despite the past weekend’s events, that fact is not going to change. Spring Hours to Offer More Options

HARRISONBURG, Va. — With the grand opening of the spring and summer hours for the Downtown Harrisonburg Farmers’ Market approaching, market manager Josie Showalter is consumed with her duties and excitement over the April 3 event. Dining Employees Put up in Hotel to Feed Campus

HARRISONBURG, Va. — As JMU canceled all classes and many other services Friday, Dining Services had to be ready to serve students despite inclement weather. Dining Services announced changes to the hours at many of its locations. D-Hall, E-Hall, PC Dukes, Mr. Chips, Jemmy’s, Mrs. Green’s and Lakeside Express were open for regular hours Friday and Saturday, while Festival’s hours were reduced. All other locations were closed. Police: No Jaywalking Laws in City, Campus

HARRISONBURG, Va. – Senior Makenna Johnson was walking back to the parking lot after a class on the Quad at noon Jan. 25 when she was struck by a car. According to Johnson, she approached the corner of Warsaw Avenue and South Main Street, checked to see if both lights had turned red, stepped off the curb and crossed between two large trucks. Bank Robber Strikes In Ohio

HARRISONBURG, Va. — Harrisonburg’s SunTrust bank robber continued his streak of serial armed bank robberies into Belpre, Ohio in December. Gary Ross LaTray, 50, of Syracuse, N.Y.,is wanted on five counts of armed robbery and one count of violation of supervised release. One of these bank robberies includes the Dec. 1 robbery of the SunTrust Bank on the corner of South Main Street and Port Republic Road/Maryland Avenue in Harrisonburg.
