HARRISONBURG, Va. — As the race for Virginia’s next governor comes to an end, some students walk past signs that shout the names “Creigh Deeds” and “Bob McDonnell” without so much as a backward glance at them. “I’m aware of the election yeah, but I’m not going to vote. Students Charged for Stealing Harrisonburg’s Signs

Stealing street signs might be a popular prank among university students, but it comes with consequences. On Sept. 3, police responded to a tip given from a resident who reported that he saw a city street sign in a garage in the 200 Block of Orchard Lane. Not only did the police find one sign, they found an assortment of stolen street signs: five stop signs, a 15 mph sign and signs that belonged to James Madison University, Papa John’s and 865 East.
