Guilty Plea Entered in Court From November Shooting

The second of four men charged in connection with the Nov. 9 fatal shooting in the Hunters Ridge apartment complex has pleaded guilty in Rockingham County Circuit Court. Eighteen-year-old Jahmaine Faqiri of Ruckersville pleaded guilty on July 13 to felony gang participation and misdemeanor counts of assault and battery by mob and brandishing a firearm. HARRISONBURG, Va. — Students will travel to Washington, D.C. on April 16 to support certain bills being considered in Congress. At Tuesday night’s meeting the Student Government Association passed a series of resolutions outlining three of the four issues the members will lobby. Two Senators Could Face Impeachment

Freshman David Hollander and junior Dallas Lee, two senators who have reached their allowed number of absences from various SGA meetings, are under investigation by the Communication and Internal Affairs Committee, according to John Scott, committee chair. Four absences are allowed per senator from weekly Senate meetings and two absences are allowed from committee meetings. HARRISONBURG, VA- Class president John Sutter collected money on behalf of the sophomore class for the Younger Sons College Fund for sophomore Jim Smith and his mother Jean Smith who were shot in their home in Dale City over Winter Break. Four Grants Approved By SGA

The Student Government Association awarded program grants Tuesday night to different campus organizations in sums ranging from $300 to $10,000. These types of grants are different from other types of funding because they are specifically allocated for events that have a wide-spreading impact on JMU. Last week the senate voted to grant EARTH Club front-end budget status, meaning it will receive funds before other student organizations and in a larger amount.
